I want to get a mid-face lift. It seemed like a less invasive procedure than a full facelift, but when I looked it up, it still seemed like quite a major procedure. What is the difference between a mid-face lift and a mini face lift?
Answer:
A mid-face lift refers to a procedure to lift the cheek region. A mini-facelift usually refers to a minimally invasive procedure to lift the jawline region and sometimes neck. So the two procedures are really addressing different regions of your face. Mid-face lifts can be performed through a variety of techniques. We have tried most of them and have had good short term results, but the longevity is in question. We believe the reason for that is that the mid-face/cheek region does not age primarily because of gravitational descent, but rather because the cheek region loses volume. We therefore rejuvenate this region by adding back the volume that has been lost. We do this through the use of a variety of fillers, like Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Sculptra for those patients looking to do something in the office with limited recovery.
