Margie,
Thanks for your question regarding blepharoplasty under local. The piece of information I don’t have however is are you interested in doing you upper or lower eyelids? I’ll just answer both. An upper eyelid blepharoplasty can easily be done under local anesthesia and we almost always do it that way. About half of patients also choose to take a little relaxation pill also. It is the patients choice. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty can be done under local, but we usually do not. Because we usually use an internal incision for our lower eyelid procedures and because the lower eyelid almost always requires some kind of volume augmentation for the orbital rim/upper cheek, it is much better tolerated under IV sedation and local anesthesia.

Hi,
I have a problem and would so very much appreciate any advice or suggestions.
I had a lower lid lift done in February, by a very reputable doctor. It involved the actual removal of the fat as well as FX (which I believe is the same thing as Fraxel Repair if I’m not mistaken?)
So, now under my eyes I have several wrinkles, more than I began with. Also, the “bags” really aren’t completely gone, but they are drastically improved. It seems as though the reason the wrinkles are there is because after the removal of the fatty tissue under my eye, there was extra skin, because these bags were something I had my entire life, and they got worse with age. (I’m 45 now).
I do not see women with wrinkles under their eyes like I have. My doctor claims there is not much he can do without leaving “scarring”, but I just think there should and probably is a way to remove that extra skin with a tiny little nip and tuck.
Can you possibly help me?
Thank you so much!!!
