Can I get an eyebrow and forehead lift at the same time?

Question:
I’m in my early 70s and want both an eyebrow and forehead lift. Can I get these two procedures done at the same time?

Answer:
Certainly!  The eyebrow lift always goes with the forehead lift.  They are really the same procedure and not considered separately.  Most often the forehead lift is combined with an upper eyelid blepharoplasty, where a small amount of skin is removed from the upper eyelid as well.  We would be happy to discuss these in more detail with you personally in consultation.

Can a forehead lift be performed without scarring?

Question:
I am a woman with a high brow line. How can a forehead lift be performed on me so that my scars are not as visible?

Answer:
High hair lines can be somewhat difficult especially if combined with thin hair. Two options exist. A trichophytic incision at the hairline can be created in such a way that the hair can grow through the incision and conceal it. This type of incision will actually make the forehead slightly shorter. The other option is an endoscopic lift. While this lift will move the hairline slightly posterior, the distance between the hairline and the brow does not change and therefore the size of the forehead is unchanged. A consultation with the physician will allow a complete comparison of these options.

Wrinkles on my forehead are embarrassing.

Question:
I am 70-years-old and the wrinkles on my forehead are embarrassing. Would I be eligible for a mid-forehead lift? How does that differ from a standard forehead lift?

Answer:
It is possible that you would be a candidate for a mid-forehead lift, but a forehead lift of any type is designed to elevate the eyebrows, not eliminate wrinkles.  The type of forehead lift chosen depends on the height of the hairline and the level of the brow as well as other factors.  A mid-forehead brow lift is more often performed on men, but can be performed on women with a high forehead and deep wrinkles.  While a forehead lift is really performed to elevate the brow, it will improve wrinkles as well.  If the brow does not need to be elevated then the treatment for forehead lines would consist of skin care, botox, and skin resurfacing.

I’ve recently heard some negative press about the threadlift procedure.

Question:
I’ve recently heard some negative press about the threadlift procedure. People say that it’s not effective and the results aren’t very good. Could you please clear up this hearsay for me and give me some information about the procedure?

Answer:
It is not effective except in the short term. Studies have shown there is little to no result after as little as 3 months and certainly not after 6 months. I do not recommend it.
