The Buckingham Center for Facial Plastic Surgery is proud to be one of the first providers in Central Texas of GFX. GFX is a revolutionary new treatment utilizing bipolar radio frequency (RF) technology to target motor nerves, (nerves that initiate muscle action). This treatment ablates the nerve, causing the unwanted furrows to disappear. This Bipolar Radio Frequency technology has been used in lifesaving cardiology treatments for over 10 years. GFX uses a patent pending combination of technologies to precisely locate bodily structures, and then apply therapeutic energy. A low intensity stimulator allows us to precisely locate the structure for treatment. Following location, a specific dose of RF energy is applied to effectively ablate a portion of the targeted structure. The result is similar to BOTOX, but more permanent.
