Q - How many treatments will I need?
While the number of treatments required will vary according to the individual patient, three to six treatments are generally required and these are usually performed monthly.

Q - How is Fraxel re:store® treatment performed and does the treatment hurt?
First, your skin will be cleansed. Then, approximately 45 minutes prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area. Your physician may also choose to give you oral medication to relax you. Most patients describe minimal discomfort and should feel quite comfortable immediately after a Fraxel re:store® treatment. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes or less.

Q - What should I expect after Fraxel re:store® treatment and what are the risks?
Patients generally experience a sensation similar to a mild sunburn for about one hour following treatment. After that, there is typically no discomfort. The skin may appear somewhat pink in tone for about five to seven days. Any swelling that occurs is usually minor and tends to clear up within two to three days. Immediately following treatment, patients can shave and apply makeup. Work can be resumed within hours after treatment or on the following day.

Q - What precautions should I take after treatment?
Follow your physician's advice on aftercare. It is strongly recommended that you wear sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.

Q - How long do the positive effects of Fraxel re:store® treatment last?
The results of Fraxel re:store® treatment are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show more even tone. The next 3 to 6 months will bring more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to heal.
