Q - What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is an alternative injectable filler which may be used for filling in deep facial lines and for facial shaping and contouring. This simple procedure can improve the obvious signs of aging in order to restore a more youthful and healthy appearance.
Q - What is Radiesse made of?
Radiesse is made up of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa) micro spheres which are suspended in a polysaccharide carrier. The microspheres are eventually reabsorbed into the body to allow for collagenation. Radiesse, when injected into soft tissue, creates a non-scar tissue collagen type that produces a plumping to the skin. The longevity of the treatment results is an average of 18 months.
Q - How do I know if I’m a good candidate for Radiesse?
Candidates for Radiesse are individuals who are physically healthy, have realistic expectation, and are interested in improving the signs of aging on their facial skin. Q - How is the actual Radiesse treatment performed?
The Radiesse procedure is a simple and quick one. After cleansing the skin and applying an anesthetic, the Radiesse is injected beneath the skin using a fine needle.
Q - How long does a Radiesse treatment take to perform?
Radiesse procedure are quick with a typical treatment taking just fifteen to thirty minutes to complete.
Q - Is there much pain with the Radiesse treatment?
Radiesse treatments are fairly painless, producing just a mild discomfort or tenderness that typically fades quickly.
Q - What is the recovery like after receiving a Radiesse injection?
The recovery after a Radiesse injection is rather quick. There may be some mild swelling or redness near the injection site for the first few days. There is usually a firm feel to the skin for up two weeks. For most patients, however, normal activity can be resumed immediately after the procedure.
