Dr. Buckingham:
Welcome to the Buckingham Center for Plastic Surgery Website. We are so happy you came to visit us. I'm Dr. Ed Buckingham. In a few moments, we'll introduce the key members of our staff, but before I do that, I'd like to tell you a little bit about our practice.

Here at the Buckingham Center we specialize in only cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck. In fact, all of my training has been in surgery of the face and neck including a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and I'm Board Certified by the American Board of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery. Regarding that, our procedures focus on cosmetic surgery of the face and neck, skin cancer reconstruction and pediatric vascular birthmarks. Regarding the cosmetic portion of our practice - that means we do things like eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty or nose shaping, all sorts of face lifting, browlifts, chemical and other skin resurfacing procedures as well as botox, facial fillers such as restylane and many other items related to cosmetic rejuvenation of the face. Our skin cancer reconstruction practice is usually performed with the assistance of a special dermatologist and they remove the skin cancer and then usually the same day or sometimes the next day we'll do the reconstruction. This is usually related to high anatomic importance such as the nose or lips or sometimes just areas that are out of the comfort level of the dermatologist. Related to our pediatric practice, we primarily deal with hemangiomas but we do do occasionally other types of pediatric birthmarks and are one of the few specialized in the Central Texas area to do this.
