This patient is a 58-year-old female presented in clinic interested in improvement for her lower face. She was concerned with her marionette lines, jawline and neck.
On physical examination, she had moderate jowling with cervical neck skin dystonia. She did not have excess submental adipose tissue and while she has the appearance of some bands they were not significant and were widely separated which are visible in her frontal before photos.
To address her concerns, we discussed the options of limited incision facelift versus full lower facelift. I explained to her the differences in detail including the variability in the neck result. We decided to pursue limited incision lower facelift with an option for full lower facelift if needed.
The frontal after photos show the noticeable improvement in the abnormal muscle tone of the neck and refinement of the jowl area. The lateral view best demonstrates the improvement in the neck and jawline. The patient was very pleased with the results and minimal downtime.
