Necklift – Direct Excision
This patient is a 59-year-old male who presented in clinic interested in aesthetic improvement for a rejuvenated appearance. While the patient appreciated the appearance of his lower face he found diet and exercise did not resolve the heavy and sagging appearance caused by excess skin of his neck. The patient desired minimal downtime and a minimally invasive procedure as he is a marathon swimmer and has a rigorous training regimen. The patient’s lateral before photo indicates the findings from the physical examination of significant cervical skin without excess submental fat. To address his concerns, the patient elected to undergo a direct excision of the cervical laxity with a geometric broken line closure.
The after photos indicate the natural results the patient desired. The patient no longer has a weighted appearance to the lower portion of his face which is evident when comparing the frontal before and after photos. The lateral after photo displays the outstanding improvement in the contouring of the neck area. The hanging skin is now gone highlighting the tighter muscles of the remainder of the neck area.
