I recently heard about a procedure where fat can be transferred to fill in the dark circles under the eyes. Is this procedure safe and effective? Does it look natural?
When dark circles are caused by a hollow in the infraorbital area fat is the best procedure to correct the dark circles. Restylane can also be used for this area in patients who do not want sedation and cannot tolerate a recovery period. Fat transfer provides the most complete and long-lasting results for this area in the right patients however. The procedure is very safe, effective and natural in its appearance when it is performed correctly. There are some small risks of the procedure, but complications are rare and treatable.
