Question:
Would getting a facelift have any effect on the frown lines around my mouth? If not, are there any procedures that could be done in addition to a facelift that would eliminate frown lines? I’m 48, female, from Round Rock.
Answer:
A facelift will certainly help the inferior aspect of the frown lines around the mouth. These are commonly referred to as marionette lines. The very superior aspects of the lines at the corner of the mouth however are difficult to treat with a facelift without creating an abnormal looking mouth. In these instances, gel filler such as Juvederm or Restylane is very useful for correcting these residual lines.
