Question:
I’m from Lakeway and I have some pretty bad sun damage on my face that I would like to improve. Someone told me that BBL therapy is good for this. What is it? Is it a single treatment or a series and how does it work?
Answer:
BBL stands for broad band light. It is very similar to intense pulse light or photo facial, however it is slightly more effective and the results tend to be better with fewer treatments. The technology is very similar to a laser however rather than being a single wavelength the energy covers a narrow range of wavelengths and can be targeted towards specific concerns. This is useful for improvement in vascular blood vessels, pigmentation and overall skin condition. We have seen significant results, especially in brown spots due to aging and sun exposure. It usually requires 2-3 treatments with a single maintenance treatment recommended once to twice per year. It is not recommended for treatment of deep wrinkles.
