Loose or sagging skin can also be improved with some types of lasers.
Dr. Buckingham has been practicing laser treatment procedures for the majority of his career. He has extensive knowledge in the variety of laser treatments available and strives to give each patient the results they long for.
The Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedure
Laser skin resurfacing is a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed in the office setting and generally takes thirty to forty five minutes to complete. There are no incisions made and recovery is minimal. During the procedure, a special laser device is passed over the treatment area. Some redness and swelling may occur after treatment.
Rosacea is a condition where certain blood vessels in the face enlarge, created a flushed, rosy appearance on the cheeks and nose. While there are special creams and make-ups for treating or disguising rosacea, laser resurfacing offers another option.
For rosacea treatment, the laser energy targets the specific blood vessels to help restrict them to reduce the look of redness. The lasers only target the blood vessels and do not damage the skin surrounding the blood vessels. The number of treatments needed will depend on the individual patient and the severity of the rosacea.
How Do I Know If Laser Procedures Are Right For Me?
Laser treatments are utilized for a number of different reasons. Commonly they are used to treat imperfections on the face, but they can also be used on different areas of the body, such as for laser tattoo removal. Some procedures and some lasers are more common than others. If you are concerned about fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, or dark circles under the eyes, then laser resurfacing may be a good choice for you.
A consultation appointment will be scheduled with Dr. Buckingham as the very first visit. During this appointment, Dr. Buckingham will evaluate your face and discuss your concerns and your goals for treatment. He will then look over your medical history and any previous procedures you may have had. After the full evaluation is done, Dr. Buckingham will be able to make an appropriate recommendation for the type of laser to be utilized during your procedure. Once that is recommended, he will then discuss the procedure and what to expect. If you then decide to go ahead with the procedure Dr. Buckingham and his staff will get you set up for your next appointment.
