Question:
How does an injectable filler of hyaluronic acid differ from collagen?
Answer:
Collagen is the naturally occurring molecule that makes up the majority of the dermis in the skin. Hyaluronic acid is also in skin, but in lesser quantities. The main difference in the products is that the hyaluronic acid injections last at least twice as long. For the most part collagen injections have been replaced by hyaluronic acid products like Restylane, Restylane Lyft and Juvederm.
