There seem to be many different procedures referred to as mini facelifts. What are the available options for less invasive/mini facelift procedures and are some better than others? How does the limited incision lower facelift compare?
Several different names are used to describe limited facelifts and different offices may use the same name for different procedures. We utilize the descriptive term “limited incision facelift” to describe a lift that only involves making an incision around the ear, dissecting the skin just far enough to get access to the SMAS, and then lifting. The procedure is performed in the office with light oral sedation and local anesthesia. It works very well in improving the jowl and also the neck in patients without excess fat in the neck or significant muscle banding. In necks that have muscle banding or excess fat then a more significant facelift procedure is offered.
