Question:
Botox® seems the way to go for me. I have lots of little wrinkles around my eyes and mouth. How do I find out if this is the right approach for me?
Answer:
Visiting with a qualified facial plastic surgeon, plastic surgeon or dermatologist will help you to find out if Botox® is the solution to your concerns. Botox is useful for minimizing wrinkles around your eyes, but if you have lines that are etched in you may also need to use a filler or skin resurfacing technique to provide further benefit. Good skin care, such as PCA Skin®, is also essential to improve and maintain skin. For lines around the mouth, Botox can be helpful, but only in small quantities as you can’t interrupt the function of the mouth for speech and oral competency. Fillers and resurfacing techniques are often necessary for perioral lines.
