Question:
What is a limited incision facelift? How does this compare to a traditional facelift?
Answer:
A limited incision lower facelift is a procedure performed in the office with light oral sedation and local anesthetic. It is intended for individuals who did not have excess fat tissue in the neck or significant neck laxity with platysmal muscle banding. It is an excellent procedure for improving jawline and jowling but is somewhat less effective for neck laxity. It is appropriate for individuals who have some neck laxity without the need for fat excision or medial platysmal muscle tightening. A traditional lower facelift involves direct improvement of the neck as well, is performed in the surgery center with intravenous sedation and has slightly longer recovery time.
