Question:
I would like plastic surgery on my cheeks. They have gotten very thin. I am interested in fat transfer for this. Where do you get the fat from on my body? How much do you remove and is it treated before it is put into my cheeks? Is it injected into the cheeks?
Answer:
Fat is harvested from wherever the body permits. The most commonplace is the abdominal area however and very thin patient’s lateral thigh, inner thigh and flank are also useful donor sites. This will be determined at the consultation. During the procedure the fat is processed utilizing a system called Puregraft. This is a special filtration bag that removes the non-viable tissue and blood cells. Fat is then placed into the cheeks using a blunt needle referred to as a cannula.
