I read recently that Botox can be used to treat excessive sweating. How effective is it as a treatment, and does your office offer these services?
Botox can be used to treat excessive sweating primarily in the underarm area and palms of the hand. It acts by reducing the neurotransmitter that causes the sweat glands to secrete. We do not perform that treatment in our office, but believe studies have shown it to be quite effective.
