Question:
I am a 73 year old woman interested in a facelift. I am in pretty good health and take care of myself as best as I can. Would I be a good candidate for this surgery or am I too old?
Answer:
Age is not the determining factor for candidacy for a facelift. The patient needs to have a degree of aging and understanding of the expected results of the procedure and they need to be in good health. I have performed a facelift on a healthy 83 year old patient and I have turned away 50 year old patients because of their health. Bottom line is that if you are reasonably healthy and motivated as such, 73 is certainly not too old.
