Is a photofacial the same thing as laser skin resurfacing?
A photofacial is the term used to describe treatment of the skin with intense pulse light/broad band light. Laser skin resurfacing is a generic description of multiple different procedures that would entail using a laser device to remove the epidermis and portion of the dermis therefore providing aesthetic improvement. A photofacial procedure is not technically a laser and is also not technically resurfacing but rather heating the skin to reduce concerns such as pigment, broken capillaries and improve dermal thickness.
