I am a 46 year old woman from Austin. I have a lot of wrinkles under my eyes which make me appear at least 10 years older. Is it safe to have Botox injections under the eye?
It is usually safe to have Botox injections under the eye. The potential side effect is if you have a loose lower eyelid it can cause some drooping which will be temporary and reversible when the Botox wears off. Be aware however that Botox will treat the muscle and therefore the wrinkles that are present when the muscles contracting. If wrinkles are present without muscle contraction then alternative therapies are also necessary such as chemical or laser skin resurfacing.
