Question:
Twice in the past few months I have had someone comment rudely on the crookedness of my nose. It looks misshapen to me and always has. I would like my nose reshaped with a simple rhinoplasty. Is there such a thing as a simple rhinoplasty or do all nose jobs have some degree of danger associated with them?
Answer:
Rhinoplasty is the most challenging cosmetic surgery to perform well. Therefore no rhinoplasty is “simple”. Having said that, in the right hands the operation can be consistently successful in improving the nose and usually the outcome is very good. A crooked nose is one of the most challenging rhinoplasties to get perfect and some degree of deviation should be expected. The operation is not however “dangerous”. A review of our photo gallery will show a variety of deviated noses and their post-operative outcomes. This review will provide a realistic expectation for the outcomes of correcting a crooked nose.
