Question:
My ears are really “mousy” and I’d like to get something done to fix them. I’ve heard about an ear pinning procedure but am not really sure what it entails. Could you give me a brief overview on this surgery?
Answer:
An ear pinning or otoplasty involves making an incision behind the ear to expose the cartilage. The cartilage is then shaped by using suture to bend and flex the cartilage. Once the appropriate shape is attained the incision is closed.
