Question:
I’ve heard that rhinoplasty is often combined with chin augmentation. Why is this? What is the benefit and is it safe to perform the two procedures at the same time?
Answer:
Rhinoplasty and chin augmentation are often combined. The rationale for this is that if someone has a large nose and a weak chin each individual characteristic appears worse in comparison. Stating that another way if you increase the size of the chin even without operating on the nose the nose itself will appear smaller. Therefore if you decrease the size of the nose and increase the size of the chin, both areas look considerably better even though each individual change does not need to be significant. Performing both procedures at the same time is very safe.
