Question:
What are the different types of laser resurfacing procedures available?
Answer:
Laser resurfacing usually refers only to those laser devices that remove the outer layers of the skin which then heals. There are many other types of lasers. The most common type of laser resurfacing is either performed with a CO2 (carbon dioxide) or Erbium laser. There are ablative and non-ablative Erbium lasers however. With both CO2 or Erbium devises there are also fully ablative or fractionated delivery systems. More detailed information about these differences are available on our website.
