Question:
What type of chemical peels do you use? Does it depend on the individual? I have uneven pigmentation on my face and the texture is rough, perhaps from the sun.
Answer:
We use a variety of chemical peels in our office. The peel chosen depends on the condition being treated and the amount of recovery time the patient can give. For someone with pigmentation issues and roughness, a combination of skin care and light peels targeted at those concerns with minimal down-time will be effective. We use the PCA line of peels and skin care in our practice. For patients desiring faster results who can afford some recovery time a deeper surgical, physician administered peel might be recommended. Even with this type of peel, good skin care will be necessary to maintain the result.
