Is fat transfer effective in treating smoker’s lines around the mouth?
Fat transfer is only useful in treating smoking lines as a temporary filler. In general fat does not have a very good survival rate in the perioral area. I would recommend a filler such as Juvederm, Restylane or Belotero for this problem in conjunction with skin resurfacing and potentially Botox. Of course the most important solution is cessation of smoking if it is indeed the cause of the lines.
