Question:
I have mild rosacea but I would like to get a laser resurfacing procedure. Will this aggravate my rosacea?
Answer:
Laser skin resurfacing to improve wrinkles such as carbon dioxide laser can sometimes improve rosacea but it can also exacerbate the situation. We utilize the Matrix CO2 fractionated laser. Luckily there are other lasers available which will treat the vascularity associated with rosacea directly either before or after laser resurfacing. We have found the BBL (BroadBand Light) has provided significant results pertaining to redness as well as other skin conditions. We offer both of the lasers in our office.
