If I am looking for more subtle removal of wrinkles from my face, would Dysport be a better option over Botox? I have read that Dysport has 1/3 the active ingredient of Botox.
We have used Dysport and Botox extensively and reviewed several studies. Botox and Dysport differ in the proteins that surround the active molecule. These outer proteins are cleaved from the active molecule almost instantly on injection. Clinically, we have not seen any difference between Botox and Dysport. Some patients prefer one over the other, but we have not been able to document any significant difference.
