Facial Plastic Surgeon in Austin, Texas

Sudeep Roy, M.D. was born and raised in Rome, Italy, where he completed most of his early education. Dr. Roy then moved to Northern California to complete a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biological Sciences at Stanford University. There, he developed a keen interest in Medicine and Research, leading him to complete a highly coveted research internship at the Palo Alto VA hospital where he co-authored a landmark paper on the effects of aging on muscle stem cell regeneration published in Science.
Dr. Roy then switched coasts to complete his medical degree at New York Medical College, one of the oldest and largest health sciences colleges in the U.S. He was elected to the local chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, reserved for medical students with the highest academic achievements who also exhibit good character, leadership, professionalism and a dedication to the community service. Following medical school, he made his way to Philadelphia, PA, to pursue an internship in General Surgery and residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, one of the busiest surgical training programs in the country. This is where he developed an astute interest in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, performing a wide range of cosmetic and functional head and neck surgery. During his tenure at Jefferson, he was awarded the prestigious Stephen F. Balshi Award for Excellence in Resident Research for his ongoing work in the effects of aging on tissue healing and regeneration after surgery, as well as functional rhinoplasty.
Dr. Roy is now completing a highly competitive and sought-out fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the direction of Dr. Edward Buckingham for one year.
Dr. Roy is an accomplished vocalist, an avid cook/foodie, soccer aficionado, world traveler and fluent in Italian, Spanish, Hindi and Bengali. During his leisure time, Dr. Roy loves exploring the great city of Austin with his wife, who is also a physician, and their 2-year-old twin boys.
