Lipotransfer Post-operative Instructions
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING LIST OF INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY TO MINIMIZE ANY ADVERSE SURGICAL OUTCOMES. IF YOU SHOULD HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK US. |
Before your surgery:
Please follow all the preoperative instructions outlined in the Preoperative Instruction Sheet carefully. Avoid any aspirin-containing or aspirin-related products as well as herbal medications and nutritional supplements as outlined in the Preoperative Instruction Sheet.
Items needed for post-operative care: Polysporin Ointment, Hydrogen Peroxide, Q-tips,
After your surgery:
- Please follow the Postoperative Instruction Sheet carefully.
- Some facial swelling and possibly bruising are normally present after the procedure, but the degree of each varies widely from patient to patient. Do not be concerned if you have more or less than others who have undergone the “same” operation. Generally, most patients appear quite sociably acceptable within 7 to 10 days after surgery. Your donor area may also show some bruising and be slightly sore.
- The morning following surgery we will see you in the clinic to evaluate how you are doing and go over any care issues.
- You will have four to six tiny insertion sites on your face that will have small scabs. Clean these areas with soap and water and apply polysporin ointment three times daily. If the donor incisions are open, ie. no dressing treat them the same way. You may cover them with a bandaide to prevent ointment getting on your clothes.
- You may gently shampoo your hair 24 hours after surgery.
- DON’T TAKE ANY CHANCES! If you are concerned about anything you consider significant, please do not hesitate to contact us 512-401-2500 or 866-451-2500.
